Kes! How important are they to Sikhs?

This post is for spreading awareness among
European as well as other communities about

Kes and why do Sikhs keep them.

Foremost of all it is to be known what Kes
are:

Kes are hair that Sikhs keep till they die.
Sikhs need to keep Kes right from birth

Sikhs respect their Kes very much
indeed there have been Saheeds
who died because they didn't want their hair be cut

Sikhs wearing caps (modified)

There are lots of persons who wear caps or hats.

Most distressful were the images of Sikhs wearing
caps.
what's in there,if a Sikh wears a cap?
Should a Sikh be wearing a cap?
are few questions that need to be answered.

Sikhs like Gurumustak Singh Khalsa -who is a one of
those Sikhs who try to live their lives as been told
in Sikhi- when are seen in images wearing hats while
doing garden chores are disheartening.

helmets, caps, hats, and many other such headgears should
not be placed by Sikhs on their heads.
Sikhs are required to wear Dastaar for covering their
KESH.

Himmat Singh,Gurdarshan Kaur, have also been seen -in images
available on various Sikhi related sites/blogs on internet-
wearing the head covers -which are also caps- provided
with jackets.
while images of Himmat Singh are available on:
http://himmatsinghkhalsa.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_himmatsinghkhalsa_archive.html
image of Gurudarshan Kaur is available on:
www.mrsikhnet.com/2005_04_01_gmustuk_archive.html

images of Arjan Kaur Khalsa wearing cap can also be found
on Gurumustuk Singh Khalsa's blog:
www.mrsikhnet.com

It is pity to wear a cap,etc when provided with Dastaar.

(the above statement is made in general)

Sikhs when fighting along with various allied and other
forces in world wars 1 & 2, didn't wear helmets as other
soldiers from varios other religions did.

thousands or perhaps millions of sikhs died because of head
injuries but Sikh soldiers insisted on wearing DASTAAR (their
religious headgear)
-note it carefully since this statement is not being made for
it to be effective but this did happened actually-

(ably tells about Sikhs' respect for their hair)

Gaddari Sikhs -of Gaddar Party- while were in Cellular jail
Port Blair,Andaman & Nicobar Is refused to wear caps provided
by British and instead tied their blankets as Dastaars
-see the respect Sikhs do to their Kesh-

this post is modified and orginal post has been removed.

Naamdhaaris! Who are they?

Here is something that was found at:

http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif/prabhukhalsa.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_prabhukhalsa_archive.html
There Prabhu Singh Khalsa (webmaster) has posted a post that is about
Ustaad Surjeet Singh.Prabhu Singh has posted a brief account of Surjeet
Singh.Surjeet Singh from his style of Dastaar -persian word for arabic
word turban,Sikhs do generally call turban a DASTAAR,bol baale of Sikhs
for turban- seems to be a Naamdhaari.

Prabhu Singh -as it seems- has posted about him because Surjeet Singh
can ably do Gurbaani kirtan on traditional instruments. But do they (sect)
respect Gurbani above all and Shiri Guru Granth Sahib as their Guru as
all Sikhs have been told to do so by tenth Guru Shiri Guru Gobind Singh ji.
Answers can be had from Surjeet Singh also, who is a Naamdhaari.
They respect Gurbaani, but not as supreme. They respect Guru Granth Sahib,
but not as their only Guru.

They (sect) have their own Guru -dehdhaari- whom they call Satguru -word
Sikhs use for all ten Guru and also for Haazaraa Hazoor Shiri Guru Granth
Sahib ji- ,their present Guru is Jagjit Singh, whom they call Satguru Jagjit
Singh ji.

Hukamm -order- of Shiri Guru Gobind Singh ji is grossly violated.

As if it were not enough they (Naamdhaari) call themselves Sikhs.

They are the ones who do not take AMRIT.

Their (sect) Guru sits on a special platform and PARKAASH of Shiri Guru
Granth Sahib is done on one of his sides.

In a photograph published by Bhai Mohkam Singh in Khandedhaar(Damdami Taksaal)
a large image of Ram Singh is allowed to hang above Shiri Guru Granth Sahib
on back wall to where PARKAASH of Shiri Guru Granth Sahib is there.

Naamdhaaris' marriages also are not in presence of Shiri Guru Granth Sahib
but they do parkarmaa around their Guru -dehdhaari-.
